I am Katia and I live in Bulgaria. I feel like European not only because of the geographical position of my country but also because of the important political and cultural place which it has in the European history. There are too many international events - examples for the strategic role which Bulgaria has taken part in. Nowadays our economy is not steady but this fact must not prevents us feeling like full Europeans. |

I want to feel like European but unfortunately I can't. I don't have freedom of the European. That freedom which is guaranteed by the material status and the privileges he has. Because he the European - is not in the Shengen's or what is called the "black register" and he can go freely wherever and whenever he wants. However I believe that in the near future when Bulgaria becomes a full member of EU I will feel like an European. Stoyan |

I am very proud to call myself European. I think there are a lot of significant differences between East and West Europe, but we all live on this continent - our beautiful home Europe. One day the borders between the countries will be cut off. In my opinion we must do our best and make everyone fell like a European. Miglena |

My name is Vasko. I am from Bulgaria. Our generation felt in the most sensible way the social, economical and political changes due to the replacement of one social and political system whit another. Some important processes such as the opening of the borders, the realization of the free trade market and the free use of the exchange rate mechanism included our little country in the intensive European life. Nowadays the young people in Bulgaria already live with awareness of being Europeans. As Platon said: "Everything flows everything changes." The United Europe is the aim we want to be achieved in hopes that it will be the most perfect system, people have ever created, a world where everyone will find his/her right place and the time will be just a formality. |

Bulgaria is a country of Balkans which is situated at the crossroads. During the least 10 years the events that happened in all East European countries, including Bulgaria, "shake" Europe and made the West Europeans be aware of us and join us to Europe and its problems. I am Bulgarian but I don't think like the others do. Most people think that the most important things are their race, nationality, sex. They forget that we all are human beings and we are not so different. In my opinion it's only a matter of time when the borders between the countries will disappear because they already belong to the past. I believe that in the future we all will be citizens of the Earth. So I don't feel like a European but like a citizen of the Earth. Plamen |
